THANK YOU !

Financial support for STRIVE /Camden has been received from

The Ford Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

THE FORD FOUNDATION

The Ford Foundation is a resource for innovative people and institutions worldwide. Our goals are to strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty and injustice, promote international cooperation and Advance human achievement. This has been our purpose for more than half a century. Created with gifts and bequests by Edsel and Henry Ford, the Foundation is an independent organization, with its own board, and is entirely separate from the Ford Motor Company.

A fundamental challenge facing every society is to create political, economic and social systems that promote peace, human welfare and the sustainability of the environment on which life depends. We believe that the best way to meet this challenge is to encourage initiatives by those living and working closest to where problems are located; to promote collaboration among the nonprofit, government and business sectors; and to ensure participation by men and women from diverse communities and at all levels of society. In our experience, such activities help build common understanding, enhance excellence, enable people to improve their lives and reinforce their commitment to society. The Ford Foundation is one source of support for these activities.

THE CASEY CARES FOUNDATION

The Casey Cares Foundation is a non profit organization that provides uplifting programs to critically ill children and their families in the Mid-Atlantic. Established in 2000, the Casey Cares Foundation was founded by Casey Baynes and is headquartered in Maryland. The foundation is governed by our Board of Directors.

The Family Festivities Program offers families an opportunity to spend time together at sporting events, movies or local attractions. Whenever possible, activities are enhanced by providing extras such as refreshments or cameras.  The Birthday Blast Program helps children celebrate with surprise deliveries of balloons, cookies or flowers since this day is a celebration of life and should always be remembered.

The Celebration Vacation Program provides getaways for families with the hope of replenishing their spirit.  Critically ill children under the age of 18 are eligible to participate. The application is reviewed with the child's physician before eligibility is determined. Eligibility continues for an additional year following the child¹s last active treatment and for families who have suffered the loss of a child.

During this stressful time in their lives, we believe the more positive opportunities the family has, the better. Therefore, we encourage children to participate in all programs in which they are eligible.

The Casey Cares Foundation is funded through in-kind donations, fundraising, private donations, corporate sponsors and foundation grants. The Casey Cares Foundation does not seek donations through telephone or door to door solicitation.  The Casey Cares Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization and contributions of gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. We provide receipts for all donations. The Foundation is proud that 98% of all donations received support programs, services and fundraising while only 2% goes toward administrative costs.
